School Year 2016-2017

Welcome to a new school year!

I am excited about the new school year and all of the new friends that are in my classroom. We have lots of wonderful things planned this year and I look forward to working with each and every family to ensure that the children get the maximum benefit of being in a Pre-K4 classroom in DC Public Schools.

Many things are starting to come home in your child's backpack. Please take the time to read them, and when necessary, sign and return items. I will try to post the documents that were sent home on the school website.

Feel free to send me a message if you have a question or concern. I look forward to a wonderful working relationship as we connect our home and school communities.

December 16, 2015, the 1st graders will perform for the entire school. the performance will be at our local high school, Ballou. The entire school will travel to support the program.

December 17, 2015, all of the Pre-K4 classes will go to the Kennedy Center for a performance of Elephant and Piggie. This is a short trip, so all classes will have lunch prior to leaving the building. Sorry guys, but we are not in need of chaperones for this one.

December 18, 2015, the entire school will travel to see the movie Star Wars. many of my students have returned the permission slip and money ($10 per person), including one parent. If you would like for your child to attend this trip, please make sure that the permission slip and money are turned in to the classroom teacher by Friday, December 11, 2015.

In the event that your child does not attend the movie, Star Wars, there will be several activities at school for them to enjoy.

In addition to all of the wonderful outings that are planned, on Tuesday, December 15, a Holiday Activity Packet will be sent home. Please take time over the break to complete the review activities with your child.

I hope I haven't missed an event. December is always so busy at school.
